TURNOVER AND PROFITS SURGE FOR FOOD PACKAGING FIRM

A food packaging company which has its UK headquarters in Telford has increased its turnover and pushed its profits past the £1m mark, according to new accounts.

Sirane has reported a turnover of £13.8m for the year to 31 December 2017, up from £11.5m in 2016.

Its pre-tax profits have also risen from £731,900 to £1.2m over the same period.

As well as manufacturing and offices in Telford, Sirane has additional sites in Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Africa and Turkey.

A statement signed off by the board said: "The company benefitted from continued revenue growth coupled with improving margins and overhead control.

"The director and management are confident that the business is well placed to take advantage of opportunities within its market place over the coming years.

"The business environment in which the company operates continues to provide opportunities in a challenging economic climate.
